Hunter 40.5 Dining Table Modification

There's been a number of threads on the overly large Hunter 40.5 table. After talking about this for years, we finally did the modification and couldn't be happier. (see photos)

One of the things I ran into with the 40.5 table was that you had to seriously crank on the mounting compression handle, or the table would spin if someone knocked into it.
I drilled a 1/4” hole through the clamp and the compression post, and stuck a stainless ball detent pin into it. (The kind with a plastic handle on them)
You’ll need to make a mark on the compression post to ensure you lift to the correct height, if you decide to drop the table for a bed

Dang, Art; that's a smart fix. Our table is a custom one that cost the PO a ton. he sold the boat to us in 1999 and we are the ones who got to enjoy it. I'm going to employ your fix.
