Ralph, Hopefully my model has a counterweight within the compression post. Thanks for the additional info. TomQuite the elaborate process when compared to my '99 H-310. From the date on the drawing :

..................... I see that both our boats are newer. Your 2002 model may have a counterweight within the compression post as does my 1999 model. If so, the release mechanism is under the table and the table moves ⇵ with an assist from the counter weight. All you need next is the cushion with the cutout for the compression post and it's off the the land of nod.
Just don't mix the two of them together or you'll wind up with something that works like this :Hopefully my model has a counterweight within the compression post. Thanks for the additional info. Tom
