Does anyone have the specs on the 3 bladed option of the propeller? Also, did anyone replace theirs with one they like much better?

Thank you

My 2004 Hunter 386 manual did not specify the 3-blade propeller specifications so I got those from the propeller supplier to match my Yanmar engine 3JH4E when I replaced previous owner's 2-blade propeller with a fixed 3-blade.

The SBO store sells one for Hunter 38 2004 - 2009 for Yanmar engine 3JH4E 40hp with 1-1/4 inch shaft part no. 830325 $621.

Not sure on specifications for your prop but you can check with the SBO store on this site under the model specific sections. They list props and are very helpful. My 38 it seems has the same engine as yours.
If you are thinking of an upgrade to a feathering prop check with prop manufacturers. You provide them with your boat and engine information and they will recommend a prop based on the engine specifications and the many they’ve previously sold.

I won’t even get into which feathering prop because there are hundreds and hundreds of posts on here about which one and what you will find is that there are as many favorites as there are posters. Which prop probably ranks in the top 5 most frequently repeated questions on the site and we sure don’t need to rehash that one more time

I did replace my fixed 3 blade with a feathering 3 blade and so glad I did. Its a pricey change but I’d do it again. Backs better with a lot less prop walk, dramatically better stopping ability, and when sailing I don’t have to listen to the whir whir whir of the prop shaft spinning.
