Thanks for the response. I have been thinking about that and have not come to a firm conclusion. My plan is to add a watermaker for extended cruising into Northern BC and AK so likely will not add water. Fuel is likely as it will be the most limiting factor assuming the watermaker works. We plan to do a lot of local cruising to get a better feel for out boat that we have now had for just a year and doing mostly short trips.I am watching this as my wife and I want to do the same when we go to a bigger boat in a few years.
curious, if you are thinking about adding water or fuel tankage when you eliminate the holding tank?
Thanks WBernard!! This seems to be the overwhelming take on the composting head. Getting rid of the odors from the head and the tank are the motivating factors so glad to hear that is your experience. Will not jump to fill the void space either as it poses some interesting possibilities that need to be thought through. We added a Natures Head to our Hunter Vision 32 a couple of years ago. The pros are that it works great at composting and we abandoned the holding tank but have not filled the space with fuel, water, or batteries yet. No odor at all. The down side is the pee bottle that separates the liquids from the solids and had to be emptied on a regular basis. Overall it was an upgrade to the cruising comfort on the boat.
