I have a 1996 Hunter 376. Has anyone strengthened the traveller bed or added a stern arch for the the traveller? The next model the 380 has an arch further aft suggesting the traveller on the 376 was too far forward?

Looking online at several for sale 1996-1998 376 boats all show a mid boom Mainsheet rig. Such running rigging is designed to get the mainsheet out of the cockpit.
It is not to optimize the boom control. Or improve the trim control of the mainsail.
Such a modification might permit you to control the boom rigging the Mainsheet on the boom end.
I’ve been sailing my 376 on Lake Michigan for almost 10 years. I agree that the traveler position is not ideal, especially for single handling during a gybe, but I have been able to handle most points of sail single handed. It’s a great sailing boat and I don’t think I would modify the rig
