Does anyone have the correct measurements for self-tending staysail on the 37 cutter. I lost mine in a storm last weekend and need to replace as soon as available. Thanks, s/v Zephyr.
I'm interested in how it was "lost" Mike. Anything you could have done to save it? Or was it like mine is, old and rotten?I'll check this from home tonight. If no one has responded I'll measure mine and post the dimensions. I have to get it out of the bag for a washing anyway.
My 1979 H37C staysail has a luff=29'8", leech=28'4", and foot=9'3". The cut is such that 8' up the leech the perpendicular is 6' to the leech. At 10' down the luff from the tack(top) the perpendicular to the leech is only 28"(2'4"). Hope this helps.
We were caught out in middle of lake with freak major wind front. It destroyed the main and the staysail. We were obviously short-handed and over clothed. Both these sails were in the do not recussitate state anyway. Thanks, Ed for those measurements. They saved me a lot of time and guesswork.
