I'm interested in the 37 Cutter. What material is the hull and deck made of? Thanks!

Hull is solid, . . . .

very solid(thick) fiberglass. I drilled new holes near the bow/centerline and found the hull to be over 3/4" thick. Back where I installed a new thru-hull for the engine it was over 1". The entire hull is solid, no coring was used on Cherubini hulls. The decks and cabin trunk are cored. The coring depends upon where you drill. Mostly it is end-grain balsa. But around the portlights and where hardware attaches you will find some plywood. If you are lucky the coring will be dry. But chances are your surveyor will find some(lots of) wet coring. This is not a deal killer so long as you understand where and how to fix.

37 Hunter Cutter Deck Coring

Thanks for the information Ed. You confirmed my suspicions. At this point, I'm just looking. The 37 does have a lot of potential for what I'm looking for. Can you recommend a good reference on how to repair soggy cored deck areas? I've never done anything like that before.I would like to see what all is involved before I take the plunge. Thanks again!

Core repair.

My H37C was the second one that I had surveyed. The first was actually a nicer boat, good canvas and the bigger engine. But they estimated $6000. to repair the moisture damage in the coring. That peaked my interest. The repair is probably best understood if you can find someone doing it and then watch or help. One source of info is the West System set of booklets, very inexpensive and invaluable. But the best repair is to cut out a section larger than the moisture meter indicates and replace. But I have done the other repair where you drill a series of holes and fill with an epoxy mix. Easy to do in the non-skid section. Takes practice where there is nice gelcoat.
