I have developed a leak at the stern , the leak appears to be from one of the holes , just forward of the rudder post.. There are a series of holes that appear to be part of the system that anchors the fairing strips from the hull to cover the leading edge of the rudder I plan to haul out this weekend to repair but unsure as to what I will need to reattach the fairing strips.
I would appreciate any experience with this problem.

I wish my pointer would go on the boat (noting your profile pic). She doesn't even like the floating docks.

Those fairings/flaps are pretty much barnacle catchers. I think most people just remove them and fill/fair the holes... Now I need to crawl under my boat and see because I think the previous owner of my boat did this but now I'm not sure...

I reattached mine with 3M4200. So far so good. However, I knew the screws had lots of bite in the hull's glass.
I believe Ed S filled his "skeg" with thickened resin to prevent any possible water intrusion and did away with the fairing flaps.
