I am getting my Hunter 36 ready to sail down to Florida.
I have a spinnaker pole and want to add a connecting point on the mast and want to hear what other Hunter 36 or 356 added as what part was used and where,I need to check
to see where the wires go through the mast.
I also want to add a preventer hook up on the boom some where and also what anyone used.

Or try a spinnaker bowsprit...

Here’s an easy-to-make bowsprit, seats in the anchor locker.
This will throw the spin ahead of the main, less blanketing.
Tack line and 2 sheets permanently deployed for quick setup.
(Note that the link here has 2 pages of pix and directions.)
Typo correction: Eyelet should be 3/8 inch.

If you are looking to add a cruising spinnaker to your inventory you will not need a spinnaker pole. Cruising spinnakers can be flown off the anchor roller or you could add a retractable sprit pole for even greater performance.

I built and installed one for my 35.5 and it was well worth it.

Thanks

Thanks guys but just want to be able to do a little wing on wing for now, some one
is giving me a pole to keep the jib out when going down wind.
We went to Block this past sunday and had to sail down wind almost all the way wing on wing and a pole would have come in handy.
I hope to add a spinnaker and chute in about a year so just doing a guick easy
setup for now.
I did call Selden today and they are sending me what I need for the spinnaker pole on the mast and also bale hook on the boom for a preventer hookup.
On the way back from Block on tuesday was a much better sail with a broardreach
doing 7.5 knots up until we got to the ruins.
Thanks again guys selden helped me out with out spending a lot of money until I am ready for spinnaker and chute.

whisker

You want a whisker pole, then, not a spin pole. There's a difference in setup and handling. Much info available on the internet.

Pole And Preventer Shippy/Dennisp

Wow Dennisp that was one hell of what you did.
I also talked to connelly at Selden who are great helping with their equipment this time for my H-36 and once before when I added wind machine and radar to my
2001-290 same as the 306 and also purchased from Norton's.
Any way selden sent me a single loop for my pole on the mast and it is curved to
fit my INmast mast with plastic spacer and rivets,I have to be careful when drilling for the rivets of the Radar cable in front part of my mast.
I also ordered a extra main sheet bale to slide into the boom for preventer,I don't use rivets for this just drill over size holes for the screws in bale into the boom.
I will be doing the install this coming tuesday and also running up the mast to
add a spinnaker halyard, hope this helps.

Bill

If your looking for a spinnaker pole, it does attach to the mast. A sprit pole for an asymmetrical is attached at the anchor roller. If you would like to get a look at mine in Oyster Bay I can arrange to meet you and show you the sprit that I made.
You can also by them ready made from Selden, though it is non-retractable and does not articulate like mine.
