Hunter 356 new owner

Well.............I finally made settlement last week on a H-356.It`s a 2002,HULL35197C202.Its a one owner Florida boat that showed well and had a positive survey.I only did a 5 minute test sail but the boat was superb under sail and power,especially backing up,everybody was surprised how well it handled in reverse.The owner installed a new Yanmar 3ym30 engine in 2009.Do to time constraints,the boat is being trucked from florida to Crisfield,Maryland.After owning several boats I am really impressed with what Hunter has done and cannot wait until March to splash the boat.I just bought a campbell sailer prop that I will install in addition to a new cutlass bearing.Any suggestions size,type,where to get the best deal on a new cutlass bearing.I know the shaft is 1 inch.

Congratulations on your new-to-you boat. From everything i hear the 356 is a pure joy.
As for your cutlass bearing, if it's anything like on my 34 with a 1" shaft, it's likely a 4" X 1" X 1.25". Last I bought one they were about 50$ so I doubt you realize great savings. Good luck.

Richard, congrats on the 356, I'm sure it will impress you. Enjoy the time learning all about her systems and how she handles. We are living aboard our 356 now for the next few months, very comfortable, spacious, handles well.

You'll love it. Every year I go to the Annapolis boat show, look at all the boats and come away saying there is no other boat I would rather have dollar for dollar. Best value and features out there for the money.....and I've been saying the same thing for five years now.

My 36 is pretty much same boat and we have always been very happy with her and yes some times I do think of going bigger when we see the new boats at boat shows and are tempted but we think again and remember how much we love our boat and just add things for cruising to a perfect boat.
