Hello.
I'm the proud owner of a Hunter 356 Legend bult year 2003 in England. It's the short keel version.
My question is regarding the rudder. It is a little loose fit ant it is kind of wobbling a bit. Do anyone know what kind of rudder bearings that are fittet, if any? The rudder stock is glas fiber.
Or is there any place to tighten this without changing any bearings? I can't find any.
I really hope someone here might be able to help me with information regarding this issue.

I have a 1997 h40.5 and I noticed some play at the rudder back in 2003 or so. I called Hunter and my dealer and they both told me that some boats have a bit of play and others don't. I can move the rudder about 3/32" back and forth. They both told me that I should check it each year to see if it becomes worse. It never has.

Regarding the rudder bearings- according to Hunter these should last 30+ years if the boat is sailed hard all year. There is no adjustment on the bearings.

I would just check it each year. Unless you can feel the play in the wheel I wouldn't worry about it or do anything.

If you feel it while motoring that is normal. the propwash can be felt at the helm. Should go away when under sail though.

Ok. Thank you for The feedback. When I had the boat out of the water this spring, I tried to move the rudder, and it was a Little play where the rudder enters the hull.
I'll gonna check this next time the boat is out of the water again. If it isn't worse it's probably normal then.

Yes. I can feel it while motoring of course. It's not that noticable, if any, when sailing.
I probably just need to keep it under observation. Maybe it is not more than normal.
Thank you for your feedback.
