Would like to know if a 135 genoa will work on a Hunter 356. Want to upgrade the current 110 to 130 or 135.

JNo No No just have a sailmaker look and tell you why way too big and reason why newer Hunters
only have a 110 and maybe 120 the most you could go.
The rigging for mast gets in the way for a bigger sail.
Ask sailmaker he will tell you.

I agree with seadaddler, no. 115, maybe 120 if you get a sailmaker on board to work out the right height for the clew inside the shrouds and have a negative roach on the leach to clear the spreaders. Backstayless Hunters are not great pointers, running jib sheets outside the shrouds to have a 135 or bigger jib will only make it way worse. And pointing better wins races. More benefit from proper tuning and trimming to get the boat faster upwind. Get an asymmetric for reaching and running, they’re a lot of fun.

no! when I ordered new sails, Doyle and I measured carefully - a 120 is as big as you can go, and even then you need a hollow leach to clear the struts and spreaders close hauled - that works great
