I have searched the archives and read over 75 postings related to the selection of, positioning of, or need for generator on a midsize boat like the 340. I am currently considering adding one and have contacted a dealer about above questions, but was surprised by their lack of immediate recommendations re: size, location, and available models(

I've got one in my 336

I bought a 1995 336 last year with a Next Generation Power gen-set installed in the port side cockpit lazerette.Next Generation Power is located in Jacksonville, FL. Like you, I have young children that have the need to watch T.V. at night. The wife also like to use it in the morning while I charge the batteries to make toast and coffee. It has served us well, though I wouldn't be able to sleep in the aft cabin with it on. I've never had to use my air conditioning will away from the dock, so I don't know if it will handle the load. If you check in the Photo Forum you will see pictures of the insallation. If you have any question, e mail me a BHURDLES01@AOL.com
