I can't seem to be able to find a replacement pedestal guard for my Hunter 34. Any thoughts or tips?

I think that the ones from Edson will work. Check with the HOW Store, they may have a source for you.
The old 34's had a Merrymann Yacht Specialties binnacle and the Edson yoke that connects the binnacle to the guard will not fit on the Merrymann binnacle. Merrymann Yacht Specialties is out of business and you can try to find an old one on ebay/Craig’s list. I looked last year but could not find one so I had to have a yoke custom made to fit. Works fine and I love it.
The top of my steering column (binnacle) broke during maintenance of the engine controls. The compass fits in the top, so I need a repair/replacement. Several have mentioned fabricating a new one - any ideas/fixes?
