Hunter 34 Mast Base

Has any one had to replace a 34 mast base?
I have 1984 Hunter 34 and I need to replace the mast base.
Mast is manufactured by Kenyon and I am contacting them
If anybody has any suggestions or experience on this item please let me know

Google http://www.rigrite.com/ This company has all of this stuff. You may find that your mast number no longer corresponds to anything they have but I'm sure they can find one for you. Once you have the mast down, its pretty easy to unbolt the old step and bolt on a new one. Just 4 bolts on mine, not even much sealant. Make sure you seal the wire tube up really well as this is a point of water entry causing rot and much frustration in these years of boat

34' mast step

I just bought a Hunter 34' and there are many posts about this particular problem on the site. Just do a site search for mast step or mast support or something like that.

Also, be really careful with the wiring as it is probably all spliced and taped together. You will have to lift the mast just slightly, pull the harness's out and seperate them carefully. When I re installed mine I cut a hole and installed an inspection plate near the bottom so that I could get at the wiring without having to pull the mast. Rig Rite has these covers as welll. Cheers.
