WE have just purchased a 34' 1984 hunter and I am having a hard time figuring how to cover the ports for privacy when we need it. There are some sort of button screws 2 on top and 2 on bottom of each window. Any suggestions or photos of what some have done? Thank You!

One relatively low cost option is to make a template of the outside dimensions of the window, including curved corners. Take that to a plastics shop (I use Taps Plastics locally) and have them cut the port window covers out of plastic and thickness of your choice (I use the 1/8" thick, smooth, white fiberglass look-a-like). Then mount them with Velcro squares. This is what I did to block light from the 4 aft cabin port windows on my boat.

Our original curtains (still have them) are pleated so they can fold up above the window and are secured with snaps. The buttons below the windows are for an elastic loop to hold them down and against the cabin top.

There are also wooden dowels at the top and bottom of the curtain to give rigidity an weight to hold them straight.

Mine are really simple and a lot like Allan's .. They roll up and have a loop on the back to go over the top buttonto keep 'em rolled.. Unrolled, that same loop can be wound 'round the button to hold the bottom against the cabin side. There are dowels in the top and bottom. I suspect these were original ..

Previous owner installed blinds across the fixed ports and small "curtains" on slider tracks over each of the main cabin's opening ports. See pix...
