Need to replace the Transmission cable running from the Pedestal in the cockpit to the Transmission lever on my Yanmar 22.5 horse diesel.My problem is that I cant seem to find anyone who will sell me one... Can anybody point me in the right direction.ThanksCharlie

Charlie,You could also try Edson. They carry transmission and throttle cables. You will need to know your length where ever you order from.The fun part can be in running the new cable.Good luck!Mike

ANYWHERE !!!

The cable is a STANDARD morse or teleflex 33 C cable. All you need to know is the length. Mack boring does not handle controls, Edson will charge a whole lot. Go to your friendly local marine store, West marine if you must or anywhere else you can find.There are varying levels of quality. The higher the level and the more you pay, the less resistance there will be in the cable and the sharper the bend you can put into the cable. The fun part, if you have a Yacht Specialties pedestal will be fastening the cable housing to the connection point inside the pedestal tube, about 10 inches from the top. I've done it twice and I couldn't begin to tell you how to do it but I do remember it required a lot of swearing.
