Hunter 33 Davits

Have any 33 owners (newer) put Davits on their boats? I've searched the archives, found discussion, but can't find specific brand names. I found Kato Marine with pictures installed on a 33, but wondered if there were others. (http://www.katomarine.com/saildavits-boats.htm).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Davits on your H33.

In my limited experience I find that many are custom made. Everyone seems to have different requirements: just davits, or need an engine lift also, or want it to incorporate solar panel mounts, etc. Any reputable stainless shop can fabricate what you need. I knew a sailor who bent and welded up an entire arch system including davits in his garage.

But from having an interest and also purchasing their radar pole I can highly recommend Garhauer. I also have used Tops-In-Quality, they built my custom offset helm guard.

We installed Martek

Although Ninkasi, our 1988 33.5, isn't like the newer walk thru transoms, , I purchased and installed a Martek 370 davit system with 4:1 ratio lines, stabilizer bar and cam cleats while in FL last year. The unit is well constructed and reasonably priced. We traveled the ICW home to Norfolk, VA with the dinghy riding well in the davits. While in FL we raised the dinghy complete with motor over night. Having the davits sure saved on cleaning the dinghy bottom.
