My Hunter 326 rudder and steering developed a pronounced clunking noise with play in the steering wheel. On removing the rear deck cover I discovered worn linkages on the tie rod which are accessible and not too big a job to replace. My main concern however is the rudder stock has developed considerable vertical play of about one inch and lateral play at the top of about a quarter inch, hence the rattling around the inside of the rudder port. I'm hoping it's just the top nylon bearing and replaceable without needing a haul out to dry dock. According to the manual the bearings are nylon tubes encapsulated in laminate, do they come out easily? If anyone has done a similar repair, advice appreciated.
