Until recently it was nearly impossible to find a replacement for the small microwave installed in the Hunter 326 and perhaps other models. Now there is one that fits perfectly on sale for just $46 at Wallmart.

To remove the old microwave, gently use a thin pry tool to pull the bottom of the plywood veneer bezel out from the cabinet. There are two clips low in the frame. This will reveal the bottom and sides of the microwave, which is usually mounted on a plywood board. This board MAY be able to be removed with the microwave (usually the microwave's four legs have screws embedded up into them through the plywood board. IF you can remove the screws holding the plywood board into the furniture frame, the board will slide out with the microwave. You turn it all over, remove the four microwave leg-screws and throw the microwave away. A replacement is as simple as attaching the new microwave to the board, turning it over and reinstalling it in the boat.

IF you cant remove the plywood board, use a long hacksaw blade in a Sawzall. BE CAREFULL NOT TO POKE A HOLE IN YOUR HULL - IT'S RIGHT BEHIND THE MICROWAVE! The microwave screws cut very easily and sometimes only the front two are connected. Simply remove the microwave, unscrew the plywood board and proceed with reinstalling the new unit as described above.

Good luck, Captains

Need to replace the microwave in my 2008 H36 but it doesn’t slide out. I think Hunter cut corners on this model. The microwave is custom fit somehow without any cosideration for replacing. I’m wondering if anyone else has replaces a microwave on this model.
