I have a 2000 Hunter 310, The water heater is rusting a the bottom. I am going to replace it, but it looks like it is hard to remove without removing the pump and other plumbing. Has anyone done this and how did you go about removing it.

.................... in that the jacket on my Seaward water heater is SS. The heat exchanger is aluminum tubing. Any chance you're looking at something other than corrosion staining at the bottom. Or maybe it's just that heaters are really getting cheap.
They make the covers differently
They make covers galvanized, aluminum and stainless. Same heater core. This one could be galvanized.
My 2000 h290 Seaward heater rusted at bottom and leaked 2 years ago. Be aware of losing coolant when disconnecting lines when replacing heater, an air pocket developed on mine and caused overheating alarms. My fresh water pump failed around same time so consider replacing if you need to remove it to access heater.

My concern was removing the heater or cover. The space is very tight. Did you have to remove other parts?
