I am looking for a replacement 1999 Hunter 310 rub rail. Does anyone know a resource to order a new one? Unfortunately, my 310 met some winter damage and am needing to replace it before the season starts. It is my understanding it is one continuous piece.

Thanks!

I would start with Hunter Marine Customer Service. This is normally the best source for these type of issues.

You can email or call them. They are normally good at returning calls. It may take a day or two depending on their case load.

Post a picture, but if it's the U-shaped gray channel type, it's from Barbour plastics and they don't make it anymore.

Ouch. Pretty sure that's the Barbour rubrail. You can look at http://www.barbourcorp.com/marine-products.htm, but I'm pretty sure you'll find it's not available any more. I've heard they still have the dies and will make a batch for you, but you have to order several hundred feet. I think there was another person who posted recently about having done just that, and was trying to sell the excess.

Since I am assuming it is all one piece, do I have to replace it with that exact same manufacturer? I wonder if there is another manufacturer that has something similar to it.

After a bit more research and phone calls to Hunter Marine and Barbour Plastics, it has been determined that, yes, the rub rail is no longer available. I am now on the quest to find a suitable replacement before season starts.

Yes, the Barbour rep said the same thing. However several hundred feet was 500' at $2500 (plus shipping). There has to be another solution out there.

I searched the archives and didnt find anything on that, hopefully someone knows who that person was and can point me in the right direction.

Thanks to any and all that might be able to help me. I have contacted rubrails.com and Taco to see what options are out there for me, but without measurements I am out of luck for now. Looks like I will need to head down to the lake this weekend.

Thanks,

Steve E.

Barbour has another profile that looks similar, it's a U shaped channel type that fits over a plastic rail just like the type our Hunters use. Did you happen to ask them if it would work? It wouldn't match the existing but it might be close enough if you do the whole thing.
