I need to replace my holding tank and am considering having Ronco make up a mold. If you think you may soon be in need of a new tank please let me know as a group of 4 or 5 will vastly reduce the cost.

Thanks
Tim

I actually have a holding tank from my 1999 310 that I removed two years ago. I installed a composting head.
It's one of the best things I have done to her. It not only freed up all that space under the port seat but it smells much better too. And we never have to visit the pump out. (Which seems to always be Broken). I can empty the composting head in litteraly under three minutes. If you want my old tank you are welcome to it.

I have the same boat. What model composting head did you install? Your testimonial makes it sound like the way to go.

I installed a C-Head. I believe it is the angle back model. Cost was $675 or so. I had to build a platform on top of the existing pedestal. I built it out of 1/2" hdpe plastic ordered from Amazon. It was an easy install and it yielded so Much storage. It's very easy to manage it's completely self contained and does not smell. It's built in Florida and works great. I can send some pictures of the install if you like. Web site is c-head.com

I'd love to see the pictures of the install. It's going to be a tough sell to get my wife to accept a composting head but the storage space and not having to pump out make it very attractive.

My wife was hesitant at first as well but now she would never go back. So many reasons. Added storage, no odor, no pump out, eliminated two thru hulls, clean, easy to manage, no discharging overboard.
We do not put paper in the toilet. We keep a box of zip lock bags under the sink. Use as much paper as you like just fold and put in zip locks. Only compromise will be on your part. Must sit to pee.

I can't tell you how many times we had guests coming and so we would drop the mooring get out the fenders and dock lines start the motor get over to the pump out only to find its broken again. Then a scramble to get three miles off shore to pump over board then back to the mooring to receive guests. Now three minutes at a leisurely pace and we are ready for company. I would never go back. Any boat I buy in the future will have a composting head installed before anything else.
