Hi, all. I'm looking at a 1999 310 and have a few questions. I've read all the reviews here and would like to ask some questions.
I would like to add autopilot to it. Any problems running the cables? What unit? I'm guessing I would get a autohelm x5.
Any one using an A spinaker? What dimensions?
Any problems I should be looking for?
How hard is engine maintanance?
Thanks

I assume that you are running a 2GM or 3GM motor. The maintenance on the engines are very minimal.

Oil/Filter Change every 100-200 hrs.
Transmission Oil Change every 100-200 hrs.
Fuel Filter Change every 250 hrs.
Valve Adjustment every 500 hrs.
Coolant Change every 2 - 5 depending on coolant mfg.

I cannot help you with the autopilot wiring, but there is not much to these units. You just need to see where the wire chaces are for your pedestal and fish the wires through.

You shouldn't have any problem with the wiring. Mine came with the older ST4000mkII wheel pilot installed, and I added the rudder position sensor, as well as some other wiring tasks, and didn't have much problem getting wires run to the various needed locations.
