Last year, I have bought a second hand 1997 Hunter 310. The mast has a sign with the following : Ste Z Diffusion - South East Inc. - 6320 NW 123 RD Place - 32606 Gainsville - Phone 904 462 5146. However the operator tells me that this phone-number is not complete. Also I have searched for Ste Z Diffusion on the internet but could not find a mast manufacturer with that name. As the current mast has corrosion and needs to be replaced I am looking for the manufacturer. For your information ; it is a typical mast. It is supported with two booms from the deck attached at the bottom level of the main sail boom. Also the whole construction looks like a triangle with no support at the back of the boat. The label on the spar mentions also Type: H310 and Reference : 4.13 - 97JC I think as it is not clear to read at all Does anybody know the name of the manufacturer or any other relevant detail? Thanks,Peter

Z-Spars - US Spars

Peter, Not sure if I have all my facts correct but Z-Spars, now called US Spars in the US and still Z-Spars in the UK. Do a Google search for Z-Spars. The address and phone number is below. Perhaps someone has better info. I'm sure Hunter could probably help also. Z-Spars used to make masts for the Hunter boats up until sometime in 1997 or 1998. My '97 Hunter 340 has a Z-Spar mast. Good luck. Also ther is a Z-Spars in the UK The US office is as follows. US Spars Inc. 6320 NW 123rd Place Gainesville, FL 32653 Telephone 386-462-3760 386-462-3448 fax info@usspars.com

US source for all things Z-Spar

Rig-Rite, Inc. carries all of the Z-Spar mast sections and fittings. They are at www.rigrite.com. They recently had a major fire and are operating in a limited fashion. I did order and receive a mast base turning block a few weeks ago so I hope that is a good omen.

Found the answer

Thank you all for your replies and help. I have found Z-Spars in the UK and France. Meanwhile my mast has been taken from the boat and needs to be replaced by a new one due to incorrect installation by the previous owner. To me this means a very expensive excersise. The good news is that all components can be used - a one days work, I am told to fit them on the new mast, if we could find the original supplier But with your information this looks very promissing. Hopefully they have the original or a equally good or better replacement.. I will keep you posted on any developments - regards Peter
