The dining table in my Hunter 310 has a counterweight on a rope inside the compression post.

Its worked fine until a few weeks ago when it got stuck.

Other than taking the compression post off to try and dislodge it (and probably the mast), any ideas ?

My 336 had this issue when I bought it. After a few years I got tired of dealing with it. I sprayed WD-40 down the inside of the post, heated the area I thought the counterweight was in with a heat gun, and banged on it with a hammer while pulling heavily on the cord. Twenty minutes.... free at last...

Most people remove them, or at least disconnect and forget about them, because I believe they're just cast iron weights and the water the leaks into the compression post from the mast eventually causes the weight to corrode and jam. It's not really that hard to raise and lower the table without it.
