I am a new user on the Hunter forum. It is a great spot for getting information!

I just ripped out the carpet hull liner in my v berth. Unlike some folks I have read about, mine did not have foam backing, the carpet was glued directly to the hull. I now have a semi fuzzy hull liner from all of the fibers left behind when I pulled the carpet out. So any ideas how to get the fuzzy stuff off so I can glue something new in place? I have tried sanding with an electric sander...not so effective, I have tried scraping with a putty knife, and wiping liberally with Interlux 333 brushing liquid. (Left over from last year's project of painting the topside.)

Also, has any one replaced the carpet in the v berth and what material did you use? Thanks for your help.

I used a wire brush wheel on my angle grinder and made fast work of taking off the foam. Should work for your fuzz too. It also cleans up some of the old glue residue. Probably can use it with a drill too if you don't have a grinder.

don't forget to ware a dust mask when doing this and use a fan to pull all the air borne particles out while working ...be safe and focus on the wire brush grinder combo it can get away from you when you least expect it....
