Hunter 31 Spinnaker Pole Car

We went through this same exercise a couple of years ago for our '87 H31. I bought the pole car (about $250) from an outfit in Canada before discovering that the spinnaker pole that came with the boat was the wrong size. Actually it was a whisker pole that the previous owner used with the 150 genoa. I ended up buying a spinnaker sleeve and ATN tacker which have been more than adequate - cruising vice racing - and works quite well with our old symetrical spinnaker which also came with the boat when we bought in '91. My advice; go the sleeve/tacker route unless you plan to do some "serious" racing.

don't do it

By the time you buy the car and rigging it's cheaper and easier to buy a standard track with a locking pole ring.

Isomat Track

Louis, IF you are talking about the Isomat mast then the best price on the car is from Lay Line in Raleigh NC. I think it is a neat set up and use it with my whisker pole all the time.

Spinnaker Car

Our 1984 Hunter 31 had an Isomat mast and boom. Isomat was purchased by Charleston Spars. We found a spinnaker car from Annapolis Spars and Rigging. They were the local distributor for Isomat parts.

This vendor has it all

Try this site...this is where I went for mine when I had my 31. They carry about anything for the Isomast system. ...Larry...
