Hunter 31. Rudder removal

I’m seeking to remove the rudder from my 1983 Hunter 31
This is a new project and have little ideas on where to start.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Start by digging a deep hole under the rudder…

Unless you are going to have the yard pick the boat up as you lower it.

I can’t help with specifics on your rudder and how it is secured in the boat. But you will need access to the rudder where the quadrant is attached As the quadrant will have to be removed.
