Are the hull stripes on this boat adhesively applied vinyl or paint? I need to replace these. How may I clean the old stripes off??? Help!! Tx. in advance for your knowledge. Andy.

Mine "84" were vinyl
But I have seen them painted, I used that sticker removal stuff in a can and a heat gun, not too hard! Its the best update I have done, updates the boat,...Big time!!

Find another Hunter model and check out if paint of decal. Also, if paint, you will not be able to remove it with a sharp scraper. If vinyl, you can probe the edge to see if it will lift. If it is a decal, 3M Marine makes a simple attachment that mounts in a drill that will remove tape boot stripe. A series of "ganged" rubber-like 4'5" discs are mounted on an arbor and spunat right angles to the decal. lifting the tape edge and peeling it back without damage to underlying substrate. I think it is called LASR.

GelCoat Stripes
On the h34 which is similiar the blue stripes at the deck joint and water line were gelcoat. On the top stope there is a while sticker stripe and logo that can be removed with heat and solvent

Mark, it's hard to get much of an idea about the
stripe but that anchor roller! Looking to get starting line room, are you? I could also work in a demo derby.
