I purchased a 1985 Hunter 31 in the spring and have several things that I need to, and want to do or have done. I am 6'2" and wear progressive lens eyeglasses. The electric panel (battery switch and circuit switches) is very difficult for me to see and operate since it is recessed under the companionway and set back. 
I am planning to have an experienced contractor move my battery bank to the starboard settee and install a battery charger and inverter. I want to move the electric panel also and I am wondering if others have moved their panel, and if so, where did you place it? We have discussed putting it in one of the shelves above the stove.
