As things usually go, when I was replacing my bilge pump on my 86 H31 today the bilge hose that goes to the thru hole fell apart. I tried to tie a string to one end and pull it through the other end but the hose disintegrating and I only recovered about 60% of it, the rest is stuck under the floor. I tried to push the new hose in but I'm running into something with about one foot left to go. I'm going to bring a steel fish tape with me tomorrow and try to get the fish line through but it doesn't seem to promising. It looks like I may have to cut a hole in the floor under the dinnette seat. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Not at all sure but it's possible Hunter installed some kind of tube clamp or strap to keep the hose from flopping around and banging the the floor. If you are only a foot or so from the bilge pump with the new hose, I would try shoving something solid up toward the through hull to see if you can dislodge whatever is preventing you from pulling the new hose to the bilge.

After fishing around with a steel tape for about two hours I was able to get the new hose pulled through. I do not wish that repair on my worst enemy.
