Hunter 30T Bilge/Sump questions

I am considering buying a 1991 Hunter 30T and would appreciate any information on how how easy it would be to add a manual bilge pump and a shower sump/pump system. I'd also like to know the prevalence of hull to keel cracks and rust on this iron wing keel. Thanks.

1. Don't know about adding a manual pump.2. I don't think the bilge is deep enough for a shower sump but if you figure one out., let me know.3. Yes, there will be a crack between the hull and keel - no big deal.4. Yes, the keel will rust - no big deal.It is a great boat!

Hi Ron,I agree with Dennis. Adding a manual pump would have to placed in the back of the boat and a feeder line from the sump to the pump. You will find that iron keel will alway show rust spots. It might not look pretty but it sails great. The 30T is a great handing boat. Let me know if you have any questions.Jimjdwharton8@attbi.com

I have a '92 and did install a manual bilge pump with no problem...located in the center bilge...there is a seperate "bilge" for the shower not tied into the bilges which could be set up with a pump.My keel does show rust every year which I have the yard grind out every other season with no problem..I have no Keel/hull cracks...before buying, check the rudder for delam..a common but cureable problem...otherwise, enjoy!
