Hi all

My hunter 30 has the holding plate and another cylinder part mounted under the cabinet. I would kind of like to get the system back together.

Does anyone know what and where I cand find what I need.

The compressor which I believe was on the engine is missing. As well as the brackets.

Maybe I will need to replace everything.

Any ideas?

It is just tubing

Hi flhunterowner
The cylinder is an accumulator.
To fix her up you can go to WM. They have the parts to put together a system but you will need a tech to recharge the system. I'd go with an electric compressor as it gives you more flexibility. If you don't plan on sailing in hot climes then I'd also recommend an air cooled condenser as they are easier to install and don't get corroded by sea water like the water cooled ones do. Water cooling is a must in hot climes however from an energy use standpoint.
when you start assembling the system be mindful of those little metal bits that can get into the tubing. They will really mess up your compressor and give you no end of headaches till you purge them from the tubing.

Good luck

I have the norcold ice box kit that has worked well for 2 yrs now and still doing well.

Auto switches from shore power to DC and draws abt 3 to 4 amps under full load.

Installation was a breeze and running in less than 4 hrs install time.

here is a link you might want to consider as an option rather than engine driven.

drinks stay nice and cold but have no way to make ice yet... lol

Rparts.com is probably your best bet. It is a good chance that your stuff is obsolete. Do you want an engine driven compressor? I would think that you can find one of them on ebay too.

Do you mean Walmart? What parts would they have? Standard automotive ac?

The boat is in southwest Fl. Does that qualify?

I have looked at the 12v units. I don't have power at the dock. They seem awful power hungry to be running off the batteries. I have 2 15w solar cells, but they wouldnt be able to keep up.

That is why i was thinking of going back with engine driven.

I read that you only need to run the motor about 1 hr or so to keep the holding plate cold.

up here in the frozen north sailing is only 3 months long , the temp is around 30'c, so refrigeration is kind of nice for extended trips. I scored a waeco coolfreeze cooler/freezer. 12/24/110v cools from10'c to -18'c and draws 7amps max on 12 volt.(80 liter size) I found it at a rv dealer. Last year it was on their web site but not this year(waeco.com).Fits the bill perfect for making ice and keeping things frozen. As far as the reefer goes it may be best to find a refrigeration teck to repair and set it up, one can make a lot of junk fast if you don't know what to do. have fun! D.
