Hunter 30 information?

I'm buying a 1980 Hunter 30 and I have noticed an unusual fairlead arrangement through the bottom of the mast. The mast is cut away on the starboard side with plates and sheaves which lead the line out of the mast and then trough deck organizers then back to the cabin top. The winches do not seem to be through bolted but possibly screwed into the deck? Anyone with information on this system and its' reliability please let me know? Thands Gary
