I'm about to take the plunge and pull the mast and fix a sag problem. Lots of posts out there on the subject. Lots of solutions. I like the idea of pulling everything out and replacing the pressure post, the I beam everything sets on and everything else with a 2" pipe with a flange on both ends. Think I make it so its in two pieces. One piece of pipe that screws into the other. That way I can adjust it to the perfect hight. Anyone been thru this? Can I bolt the flange directly to the keel bolts? Is the I-beam bolted to the keel or is it just glassed in? When I finish this did I just take a deck stepped mast and make it into a keel stepped? Also I want to put a perm antena at the top of the mast for tv, radio...is this doable? I get thru this and all I need is some new sails and I'm outta here! Tks

I did it 6 years ago. I made a SS 1/4" plate that I cut the same shap as the bottom of the I-beam. When I cut the I-beam out I left a little flange of fiberglass and drove the I-beam aft and out. The new SS plate fit right in (It's a slight V shape) and fixed a strap and bolted it to the keel bolt a couple of inches forward. I welded a stub on the plate for the 2" pipe to engage on. The pipe I welded a large flange and thru bolted to the cabin top. Hope this helps, Royce Hallock
