I am in the process of installing Nova kool refrig on a friends 1996 -29.5. They have a Dytec battery charger that appears to have come with the boat. Can anyone tell me if it would have an internal regulator so as not to overcharge the batteries and damage them. They seem to think this happened in the past but I find it difficult to beleive there would not be a regulator on a recent model. 2nd question - I am planning on drilling a hole through the front on the ice box into the storage locker under the port setee. Has anyone else done this? Thanks for your resonses, Don

29.5 battery charger

I bought my 29.5 2.5 years abo and I just replaced my dytek battery charger about 4 months ago, it kept overcharging my batteries. According to Hunter it is supposed to have a regulator to keep it from overcharging, but either mine broke or it never did. I bought a new charger from West Marine for about $100.00 that has 3 charging cycles, it works well. Hope this helps Alex

Alternative

On my 29.5 I have no idea if the charger works. I only charge overnight on Saturdays, and that seems to do the job.
