My boat has been out of the water for some time now I think 7 years and was given to me by the previous owner but now after the snow melted off the top I went in to find an inch of water sitting on the sole of my cabin anyone know we're it is coming from I can't seem to see we're it is I think it may be the caulk on top of the ceiling were the vertical door is stored when not being used if you know what I am talking about sorry don't know what it's called.

Your 2 cents will be greatly appreciated :theman:

Several possibilities for leaks.

Toe rail, check for interior stains along cabin walls. Tighten all bolts along the toe rail.

Windows and ports, check for stains and recaulk.

Scupper (cockpit drain) hoses may be split due to freezing. Replace.

Snow depth in cockpit could flow through main hatch.

Rebed all fittings.

Snow piled high can get into starboard cockpit hatch.

Look for staining under fore hatch and center hatch and rebed if you find signs of water intrusion.

All of the above are possibilities but should be done regardless.

Sounds like a lot of work but in reality not that bad. You will never find all of the leaks but after 7 years of sitting it doesn't sound all that bad.

CAUTION: Do not use 5200 for caulk.

Congrats on a good find.

Seven years, likely with limited maintenance?
Start looking at all openings in the cockpit, including the condition of the cheap corrugated plastic scupper drain hoses which can easily freeze and crack. Check the seal at the port light into the quarterberth from the cockpit ( steady garden hose flow over suspicious areas with someone observing below); check the engine control panel at the starboard sail locker to see if water was leaking thru it. Check the sail locker hatch itself as the hinge side 'drains' into a very shallow gutter that is supposed to drain into the cockpit but can get backed up with leafs & dirt. Forward, make sure the plastic anchor well and fresh water over flow fittings have not cracked and broken due to UV deterioration. Before lanuching check all thru hull fittings but especially the marelon or plastic thru hull fittings at the Head lavatory drain (starboard at the waterline) and at the bilge pump out flow on the port side near the galley storage shelves.
If the hatch boards were facing into the prevailing winds, a lot of water could be blown thru the gap at the top of the drop boards and the underside of the sliding main hatch.
