Hunter 27 Navigation Light Question

Hello,

I am the owner of a 1979 Hunter 27. I recently bought it and I am trying to fix some of the things that are broken on it. One of those things are the navigation lights that are built into the bow. Both are completely dead and need new bulbs. The bulbs are easy enough to find, but what I also need is the guts for the inside of the port navigation light. By guts I mean the light bulb mount and the backing that screws into the light fixture on the hull. I have no idea where to look for the guts or an entire replacement for the light. Does anyone know where I can find this stuff?

Thanks for the help,

You may try a salvage yard but it can be a likely hit or miss proposition. I'm sure it would be much easier to abandon the original lights and install and wire a new fixture in the bow pulpit. There is really no value in original restoration for the h27 so if you are looking for functionality and safety a new fixture would be the way to go. I mean you can probably find bulb sockets at an auto parts store but if the lenses and reflectors are faded and the seals are shot you will continue to have problems with them.

If you are talking bow nav lights and 1979 Hunter you probably have Shark eye nav lights and they are available at a number of suppliers. They are also very easy to change out.

Thanks a bunch! They are the shark eye navigation lights! Now I can finally replace them. Your help saved me so much time, thank you. Hunter should really label the lights or something, because my lights have no numbers, no branding, no anything. Thanks everyone else for your inputs as well.
