Never could find info on this anywhere, but now I know. I removed the old transducers to install new ones. It's one full inch about 6" from the keel, don't know why the P.O. put this transducer here. Is it better for the depth to be here? This is where the speed transducer was.

This is where the depth transducer was, just inside the port settee locker, it's about 5/8" here

Yep, that's a Cherubini hull. From back when they really weren't sure how strong or long lasting that new-fangled fiberglas would be. Had the same experience when I replaced my thru-hulls from 1/2" to 3/4" for seacocks. My H37C depth and log transducers are about one foot ahead of the leading edge of the keel and one on each side of the centerline about six inches.
