Hunter 27-2 Salon Wood Species

Hi all,
I'm planning some alterations to the salon of a Hunter 27-2 and am wondering what species of wood was used. I'm not certain it's teak as it fairly closely resembles some type of mahogany.

Attached are some photos of the portions of the salon at it currently is. I'm not convinced it's teak, but would like to be a bit more certain before I start building components to add.

What do you mean by this? I believe they stopped making this boat (1989 Hunter 27) in 1995.

SBO store employees are former Hunter employees who have nearly all the hunter sailboats specs and the master list of parts that went into each boat. They are the best source of locating parts and some parts that need to be manufactured. I introduced your boat as a former dealer but my expertise is with the trailerable sailboats
