Hunter 260 vs Hunter 27 Edge under sail

Have any 260/Edge owners raced against one another? I've heard the Edge sails quite well for a crossover craft. Wondering if by chance the 27 came out on top due to her slightly longer waterline and larger mainsail?

No I don't think I could ever come to buy a 27 Edge, something about the looks that throw me off. And I would eventually break that Vara rudder. Just curious if anyone's been passed by one under sail.

Its kinda funny that Hunter got goaded into building that thing right around the time that Roger Mcgregor figured that that everyone in the world that wanted something like that now owed a Mac26, and got out of the business.

How many of the Edges did Hunter make? 4?

Jackdaw; It was more than four as my first delivery of the Hunter 27 edge was four of them. I told Hunter when they were building them, 15 years too late. You hit it on the nailhead. As for MacGregor I thought he got out like a lot of us due to age.

I bought one ,but I gotta say it really grew on me ! Went down from bigger keel boats to a mac26x ,sold the mac and ended up with a edge with a 90 etec . Fit and finish is no comparison and handling and sailing characteristics are light years beyond the mac x . But did wanna know how many edges were built ?

My guess, in a race it would be up to the crew which is faster, the 260 or 27.
