2 260 Lake Pleasant
We have a new to us 2000 Hunter 260. The trailer is the stock trailer. There are no goal post or any othe rmodifications. We will be keeping the boat in a mast up lot se we will be launch and load each time we use it.

What trailer mods do you recommend to make this process as easy as possible?

My thoughts are as follows:

1. Front and rear goal post. I am thinking about running bumper lines between the two to guide it in on a windy day.

2. The bow roller is only slightly higher than the bracket and seems that it would be easy damage the hull if I was off. Replacing the bow roller with a biiger one.

3. Keel guides to center the boat and assue the keel is on the center rest.

4. Keel has about 1/1 to 1 inch play so I think the cradle boards are positioned properly.

Comments or other ideas.

Thanks

Tim

I have a 240 with a similar trailer. I have tried to make the trailer as easy as possible to accomodate the boat.
1. I added two 3 ft long bunks that sit about 15-18" high on the side close to the bow. these force the boat to center of the trailer. Helps a lot. They are even with the roller. Would love to add 2 more in the back.
2. the roller can cause a nasty scratch if you are not careful. The bunks help to eliminate this.
3. Since you are keeping your with the mast up(lucky) this next tip probaly won't be of concern. I had trouble with the extension bar lining up with the socket on the first trailer cross member after a couple of years. the bar tends to have some slight bend. so I finally took the sawzall and cut the socket off the cross member. So now no socket and it doesn't affect trailing at all the bar is still locked with pins in the main tube.
