Hunter 260 how close to the wind can it sail?

I Currently race one design sail boats and was wondering how close can the Hunter 260 (wtih center board and tiller) sail to the wind in various wind speed conditions? I am looking at purchasing a boat just for cruising not racing but have heard some negative things about water balist boats.Thanks for your timeBill

going to weather on H26

I have raced boats for a number of years, I currently own and sometimes race my H26 with tiller and no furling. Sometimes I start with the J24 and Merit 25s in our club. I can point with them, but I get my butt kicked going downwind. I have been quite surprised at how well the boat points. Other boats I have owned have been S2 7.9 and Capri 25. I bought it to cruise, but it will do well around the triangle.
