The uphaul line for the swing keel is worn on my Hunter 26. Has anyone tried replacing this line themselves? If so, how did you do it. Can it be done while the boat is still on the trailer?
There have been some imput here about getting the centerboard out while on the trailer. But, I think it would be worth the money to just have the boat hoisted and set on stands.Be sure to use the old line to pull the new, or attach a light line as a pull-thru. I used stayset X when I replaced mine. It has a very low stretch and good abrasion resistance.
Pat Adam has put together an excellent step-by-step procedure with pictures. Go to this link:http://kb.sailboatowners.com/brand?model=20The knowledgebase seems to be on the fritz but I'm sure Phil will get it fixed. Be patient and try later.
