Hunter 25 roller furling rigging
Ok, new boat owner. Novice in terms of sailing experience mostly via rentals from U.S. Navy marinas. Retired and took the plunge.
I bought a 2006 Hunter 25 trailerable. Stepping mast with roller furling was not really covered in manual but with a little help I managed.
However, I can't figure out how to tension forestay with furling system and rigging far to loose to venture out, also, furling system doesn't seem to function as it won't turn.
I tried unwrapping sail by hand and then attempting to real in sail but still won't turn. However, I’m more concerned with lack of ability to tension forestay. Jib halyard is currently under too much tension, when I loosen entire rigging loosens.
I’m probably missing something very basic, but I can’t quite figure it out.
