Wanting another boat and leaning heavily on the H26 or 260. Owned several, my favorite being a hunter 25.5. I've also previously owned a 23.5 so am very familiar with the type, Just have never been on board a 26 or 260. Does anyone around the Mississippi Gulf Coast have a 26 or 260 they would let me and my wife take a peek at. Like I said I'm very familiar with the type having owned the 23.5 I just want to check out the interior space of the 26 to compare the size / room difference.
I can't find one for sale very close to go take a look at.

thanks
James

caverun, saw the one in Fort Rucker, but that is 6 hours away.
rgranger, awesome invite and really appreciated, but Va is quite a far piece away also....but your generosity is overwhelming...

Im pretty sure how the boat is going to sail, and not that worried about that or performance. Just haven't experienced the size of the cabin etc....

Well jbreland.... I've owned a lot of different sailboats, mostly trailer sailboats but in the 25-26' range, I've owned three; a Coronado 25, a Balboa 26 and now my H26. There are pluses and minuses of each. I can say that the H26 has the nicest interior layout of all of the boat's I've owned so far.... I also like the way the cockpit is layed out....now that said, I like to ghunkhole so the walk off transom of the H26 is great!!!! and the galley layout is convenient...But if I was sailing further from shore a lot, I'd stick with the Coronado... it is a fixed keel (= no trailering) the Balboa was a swing keel but dang what a beast of a keel so trailering was difficult. She was stiff but the keel trunk was constantly a leak issue. The H26 is water ballasted so it is easier to trailer, and the dagger board is easy to raise etc.. Also a plus. But, it is water ballasted so ... I'm still getting used to it. There is no traveler nor are there genoa tracks and it bugs me a little some times. But... that might change that over time or I'll install them ;) I'm still getting used to the H26... this is only my second season with it.

I've been in a 23.5 before. The 26 looks like a stretched out version of the 23.5.

I've not been in a 260 before.

Bump,
again anyone with a H26 or H260 around the Mississippi gulf coast that would let me and my wife view the interior of their boat? About 95% sure this is the boat I want, but need to show the wife the roominess of the interior. She has never seen one.
we had a 23.5 so am familiar with the W/B series just need idea of the size of the 26.

thks
James

James. I got hunter to build the water ballst boats and know them well. Saw you were at Ft Rucker which is home to Army aviation. Was there last year for dedication of the new and largest building #1001 dedicated to my father who according to the base paper is an American hero credited with the advocation of use and maintenance of helicopters to the Army. I salute all veterans on this Memorial Day today
