as mentioned, when old sail slugs or slides have been in use for years, they will become brittle and eventually break. When one goes, then it is time to replace all of them. There are many West Marine stores that do not carry a large array of sailboat supplies for example in Knoxville, TN but the store in Morehead City, NC does. What you have is def. a 3/8 inch slide shackled onto the sail. SBO store on this site knows what your boat needs and is a good source for them. I am not sure exactly where you are at but two former dealers for Hunter were Lighthouse Landing also referred to Kentucky Lake Sales on Kentucky Lake and Rooke Sails in Memphis which is still very active. Ask for Chris I think is his name and tell either I referred you there if you ever need help/repairs from either on your boat.
