Hello. I recently purchased a 1975 Hunter 25. It doesn't have the "classic" appearance, but seems to have some sort of lower profile deck, similar to the 25.5. I can find out very little about this model. Does anyone have any knowledge about this version of the 25? I need to get a full set of sails, so I'm curious if it is the same as the "classic" 25. Thanks for you help. Bob Dianetti

i MAY BE ABLE TO HELP

I have the same boat it was just given to me. To my surprise it has the original sails and they are in very good shape. Im leaving on Vacation in 2 days but when I return I can mesure them for you. As far as you deck for what i have found out. It is a race deck and there where not that many made. I have the full set of race sails Made by American racing sail for Hunter.

Early H-25s

I'm really stretching my memory, but I recall that the first production run of H-25s all had the "racing" or flush deck configuration that you refer to. I also remember that they did not have an internal F/G headliner. These early boats were rumoured to be designed by Bob Siedleman. Anyway, other than the deck, they should be essentially the same as the later Hunters. I had a 1977 H-25 and gave my old sails to a friend with a boat like yours. He had no problem using them. My boat was a shoal draft, but sailed very well. Good luck.

Sails are the same. Hull is the same. Great Boat!

This is a great little boat. I have written about it's design in the past(check the archives). In fact quite a few people have including, Don Bodeman and John Cheribini II. The sails are all the same no matter which deck configuration you have. The racing style deck is the original H25. Bob Seidelman and John Cheribini designed it together. Hunter wanted a roomier interior and changed the original design later, I think 1976 was the last year you could puchase the racing hull. I have a few pictures of my boat on the site, check them out! Good Luck, Dan s/v Essayons
