Hunter 25.5 bimini fit...question?

I am looking for a bimini for my 25.5 Hunter...seems as though they run from 350 to 1K....A sailmaker here on Lake Travis who also makes custom biminis tells me that this model of boat requires cutting off some of the foot of the main sail to allow the boom to be raised because as it is there isn't enough head room and is to difficult to get in and out of the cockpit...can anyone verify this or is this sales talk?

I am very much a novice sailor, but I do have a Hunter 25.5 with a bimini I just bought. We put on the bimini and were still able to sail, although we had to move the bimini lines back a bit to avoid the traveler while sailing. I can post some pictures by the weekend if that would help. There does seem to be an adjustable track on both sides of the boat to accept the bimini "cables", but they aren't quite forward enough. The previous owner was a canvas maker, and he also made some kind of cover that I haven't put up yet, but from my one experience sailing with the bimini, I didn't see an issue even though I've seen other threads talking about issues sailing with the bimini open.
